VT Berlina wagon 5.0 litre
hey guys.
i own a VT berlina 5 litre. Just wanted to know if a K&N air filter will actualy improve acceleration and how much power gain i will get from one...if any..

I have been told that they allow more air to go into the engine and make for better acceleration...is it true ?

Waste of money.. I reckon it's all placebo. Some people will claim better economy, acceleration etc. But it's miniscule..

Certainly not worth the money you pay for it.. And a normal air filter costs abot $20 and let's say it gets replaced every 20,000km.. It will take you about 6 years to make up the money..

Don't bother, spend the money on something that WILL actually improve performance and economy. Like an exhaust, CAI, TB etc..

In my opinion and experience, yes it's waste of money. It may offer some benefits, but certainly not worth the $100-120 needed to buy it..

Do the other mods first, then if you wanna do it, do the K+N.. Even better, if you've got a mate with one, borrow it for a few days. See how you go..

I have a panel K&N filter on mine, standard filters are restrictive. My mum has a VX with a standard filter, took it for a run to test difference(exactly the same motor).I jumped straight out of mums and into my VT and the difference was notable,it breathed alot better,K&N's are ok.
