Ok guys I've realised one of our cats has been sleeping on my car at night and I want to know if there are any ways to keep the bastard off. (I know it's been there because I can see the fur.) Any ideas would be great, I have a car cover, but I don't want to keep putting it on.
Glue a dog onto your bonnet , that should do it . Seriously though cats don't like the smell of citrus so try spraying some orange power citrus spray on a rag and putting on the bonnet . It costs about $4.00 for a small bottle .
Thanks for the idea. I guess I could just squeeze some fresh lemon juice on a rag and then place it on a piece of cardboard or something so it doesn't get on the paint.
Get a nice size dog to watch over your car. Everytime I see a neighbours cat near my driveway I get our dogs out and let them walk round the cars for a while, then the cats are no where to be seen for days.
Our dog has passed away and we aren't ready to get another one. Too much time is required to look after it.
Run a 240v line and ground it to the chassis of the car. But seriously go to a pet store, they have stuff for repelling cats.
This is terribly ineffective. You need to find yourself a 1:10 isolation transformer, bump it up to 2400V and run your mains through that, connect the active lead to the car. Park the car on either a sheet of steel or alfoil and attach the neutral to that. Some sort of safety switch is recommended.
My cousin and her husband have a pretty big enclosure (almost like a giant rabbit hutch) that they built. They dump the cat into this at night, so it can't wander around and piss off the neighbours by jumping on cars and spraying everywhere.
cats aren't really supposed to be outside at night anyway to the best of my knowledge, lock them up at night. The below information is from Victoria other states are similar. All About Cats - Department of Primary Industries Confine your Cat - Department of Primary Industries
Strychnine injected into a pilchard works pretty well... Fluffy is usually stone dead within a couple of meters.
Never for get the time my mates old man shot the neighbors cat with a .303. Nothing left but fur chunks.
If it's your cat.. I'd recommend the orange power cleaner.. Clean the bonnet with that and it won't jump their for a while.. If it's your neighbours cat, most of the local council will allow you to borrow a trap (free of charge).. Trap the bloody cat next to your car (Trap has to be on your property).. Then the council will pick it up and you'll find the neighbours will keep a much better handle on their cat next time so they don't have to pay another $70-$100 to get it out of the pound..
Yeah nothing going on the car man haha. It'll eat the paint. Might just have to dispose of the cat I guess >
camp out in the garage with a bb gun or a paintball gun, it will quickly learn not to be near the car
I heard citronella helps. Don't put it on your car, maybe around it on the floor, or chilli flakes, if they sniff it it'll make them run. Down the side of our house, we used to have just a fernery, but we put a pond with small pump, blocked the sides in and our Bengal cat goes there at night. He keeps the other cats at bay too, I think there all scared of him because he's at least 50% then most cats. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
