Have you considered a fresh set of eyes looking at the vehicle?

I've been thinking about that.
There is a Performance place hear as well as a Service Centre with a Dyno.
Apparently the person at the Service Centre is in to modified cars,
so I might go and have a talk to him.

i dont think this is the type of problem you would need a full dyno for, since it sounds like when the car reaches operating temp it runs fine, so you may find a tuner will only charge you an hour or so to add a bit of cold-start enrichment in.

id guess they would need it overnight, then in the AM when its cold, get into the starting cells and throw a few more milliseconds of injector in. ive been looking at the tables for cold start for the LS1, and there are lots of various multipliers and adders in there which would take less than a minute to add to and reflash. even if you were running a bit rich up until 80 degrees, whatever extra carbon was built up would soon burn off once you were moving.

i do think it'd be worth making a few calls though. as i said, im not familiar with the OS on 304's so talking to someone that is would be a much better idea than people chucking out the opinions over the internet :p

Agree ari
I might have a talk to this guy anyway,
As i think he's pretty savy with these things.
Bloody thing started popping before, only when you sink the boot in.

I might, as a matter of fact go now and see him.

Will keep you posted.

Thanks again everyone for your opinions and input.
Much appreciated.

its not as simple as a vacuum leak is it???
Wish it was mate.

I've taken them ALL off and inspected them.
Replaced some which I thought were dodgy.
Tightened all the clamps, sprayed carby cleaner on the connections and the hoses.
If there is a leak now, I'd be very surprised.

Any way....I've got it booked in next week at Echuca Performance.
Kal there is really good.
He said he'll get it sorted (I hope).

Ari.....That response you posted (above), I think, is the most valuable piece of information I've ever received.

You had me wondering, so I had another look at all the vacuum connections and hoses, including what they are connected to.
I.....um....err.....ah.....found the problem fellas.
Happened to wonder if the oil catch can its self had something to do with the problem.
Turned out that the oil drain plug was not sealing properly on the can its self, there for, yeah, you guessed it.
VACUUM LEAK.:bang:
So.....Ripped the bloody thing out and guess what.

Bloody hell....All that stuffing around......%$#@&%$%#@%$#$

A very big thank you to all who responded and gave there valuable input on this Thread.
You're all a credit to this Forum.

P.S. If any one is after an oil catch can, you can find it at the bottom of the Campaspe River at Echuca.
Diving gear NOT supplied. (I'll give approximate location on application).

NK.

Install the block heater and hook it up to a timer, to come on 1 hour before your going to start it.

Even though I've got this cold start idle sorted out,
it still splutters a little when driving, until it's warmed up a bit.
A block heater would be good, if I could find a place to fit it into the block.
