Hey everyone. I have a 2004 VY ss and I have noticed that the steering wheel won’t lock when the key is removed. On my VX it locks when the key is flicked all the way back. Could it be the ignition barrel? And if it is do you usually have to replace the whole thing? Thanks.

Have you moved the steering wheel to get it to lock?

Your steering lock is buggered.
Cheapest way out of it without replacing the whole lock would be a club lock.

Yeah I thought so. Thanks mate. Does that indicate that the car was stolen? Not sure how someone could break the steering lock.

That was the first thing that I thought when I read your post, someone might of had a go...my VS is the same, don't know the history of the car but a lot of stuff has been played around with. Your door lock might give you a clue.

Oh really? My vs doesn’t have a steering lock. It’s a s2 berlina. I haven’t seen a VS with steering lock before.

It should have a steering lock, if you don't have one it is knackered.
