The keyless entry remote seems to have stopped working. About a month ago it started playing up, working sometimes and other times taking up to 30 mins to open locks. (is 2 button remote-not original remote)

Opened locks with key but set the alarm off when entered car. Eventually got remote to unlock car.

Had battery replaced and started locking/unlocking car with key.

Has now stopped working completely and can't take the immobiliser off so cant start the car.

Have had RACQ out who can't have no idea what to do.

I think the security system is aftermarket.

Can't start the car to take it to anyone.

I spoke to an Auto Electrician tonight and his answer is to rip the entire security system out.

Forgot to say, its a VX Executive Commodore

Can anyone give me any advice on what to do? I am desperate to get it fixed as I'm self employed and can't work without a car!!!!

I agree with the sparky, aftermarkey systems on these Commodores seem to suck unless you get a real good one and installed by a real pro.

My old agftermarket sysem was drainging power through the BCM, car would be flat enough not to start after 24 hours. Ended up ripping the whole aftermarket system out.

    Agree with sparky as well.

The aftermarket alarm has probably passed its life cycle and causing grief with the factory electric.
Remove it and just use the onboard immobiliser.
