Hey Guys excuse my stupidity but Do all 5lts have a knock sensor or just the HSV 5lts? I have a 5lt VR and according to my diagnostic test i have a knock sensor fault. Now I know the knock sensor is on the block but where abouts? and also would a HSV knock sensor work with a normal 5lt. I dont think my 5lt is HSV enhanced because there are no badge but it seems to have all the HSV mods, It has a chip, extractors, Knock sensor, CAI so does that make it a HSV. I have only had the car a little while so I am not sure if these mods were standard or add ons later. Like I said I am sorry if this is a stupid question, but you only learn by asking questions. If your car had the knock sensor from factory it will be just in behind the Starter Motor on the block. You will see it as it will be fairly bulky and have a wiring loom coming off it. Could also be on the other side but this is rare.
they had the same motor just added those mods 4 extra power... if it has been hsv enhanced that doesnt make it a hsv...
Yeah i understand that it isn't a HSV with those mods but I was foundering if that would mean it's a HSV enhanced engine. The car was resprayed 2 years ago so there are no original badging or anything left.
