Hi all I have a vy 2003 Ecotec,v6 auto with 240000 on the clock. Just wanting some assistance.. iv come across an irregular clunking/knocking rattle noise from the engine bay but only when accelerating, when the rpms are at around 1200-3000 rpms and causes the car to shudder/surge and lose a little power, at the time that’s happening the rpm needle on the dash is bouncing up and down, and anything above say 3500rpm seems ok at times , It’s like the gears are real sluggish/missing revs then kicks on when that’s happening ..it only doing this when in drive and not when idling in neutral or park. any feed back would be great cheers

3000ks the following has been done
-crank n cam and sensor
-waterpump
-general service all fluids, oils, filters and coolant flushed and topped up etc..
-removed fuel tank, fitted new fuel pump assembly n refitted
-struts all round with new strut mounts and bearing kits
-new engine mounts

6000ks ago
-new SERP belt
-tensioner pulley assembly/idler pulley and AUX belt
-new air intake and tubing
-rotors n pads all round
-steering n suspension insp.
-new plugs and leads

10000ks ago
-new rail and rings, full intake, gaskets to manifold with new top injector seals in the housing

Anyone got any input on what may be wrong.. thanks

Get the code faults first and go from there.
Coils or o2 sensor. MAF, get the codes.
Are the leads making good contact? Has the fuel filter being changed.
