My mechanic reckons 3 of my injectors need replacing on my VL, and is tryna slug me 700 bucks for a set. i only spotted one that was leaking a bit of fuel when i tried starting my car (it wont start) from the bottom of the hose or somewhere, does anyone know if this can just be fixed by cleaning the injectors and just replacing the hoses? would a mechanic do it for a couple hundred you reckon? hes dreamin if he thinks im payin seven

the hoses can be replaced easily. you just need to cut the old ones off, then just standard fuel injection hose, and an extra hose clamp.

if it is more than that, go to ebay, you can pick up a whole set of turbo injectors for $390, I'm sure NA would be cheaper.

My mechanic quoted me $700 to replace my front discs, pads, and wheel bearings, & he's my mate!

Just check ebay and replace the leaking ones, screw the mechanic

Bursons have injectors for $68 and they come with the hose already attached
you will need some circlip pliers which are a little over $10

very easy job

Recently did this on a friends VL, he bought an injector recondition kit from Nissan around $70-$80, the O rings in the suspect injectors were broken.

He stripped the injectors replaced the rebuild kit parts and put them back on, he is also 100% automotive repair illiterate, I just dealt with the intake manifold.

Hasn't had a problem since.
