I think your diagnosis (sourse of noise) is correct and I doubt its stuffed - but again I am not there I have diagnosed heaps of the V2SQ's for people in the past for exactly this reason, is the noise with my charger right? Typically they have all been ok and nearly all of them had less than 5000km on them when I was asked to check It is a bit of a pain the bum noise with all the chattering etc but thats how some of them are
You know, its like this If you are in the Commodore scene you would think the LS1 makes like 30kw in stock form, the amount that are supercharged, turbocharged, stroked and combo's of all the above - all because the owners want more power, not because they dont already have enough to move the car along just fine Same for this project In other words, anyone should be able to look at a boosting project no matter what it is on (4, 6 or 8 cyl) and think nothing weird of it, its normal, not even worth comment The power target is only relative to the engine you own, if he had a V8 then he would simply chase another higher figure. All in all, just someone enjoying their ride, modding as their budget and wants allow
Raptor - the question was to the op for starters Second - its his car so he can do what ever be likes. Sometimes different is good. Third - sometimes its better to start with a better base. You cant make a orange out of a apple. Pls don't answer questions that aren't directed to you. Thanks
Just asking a question too, why post a **** ass comment like that? He obviously doesnt want a v8 and wants to charge his 6 and have that bit more go without buying a new car Also dont care who it was directed at lol its waste of a comment space on his thread!
If "different can be better", then why ask the question in the 1st place... Different= s/c Better= FI over stock As Wogboyz said, waste of comment space! Kuz, good work on the s/c, my turn is coming after you finish with the s/c tune.
Raptor, do you know what oil these things take? And if I can buy it retail anywhere?? Vortech don't have anything on it's website except for the V3 because it doesn't make the V2's anymore. CAPA weren't keen on telling me what oil it is, this is the V3 lubricant. V-3 Lubricant | Vortech Superchargers
Your car goes good Allen Despite the compressor surge (needs additional larger BOVs), runs nicely all the way to red line. Hopefully we can get some dyno time at some stage to revise the tune, but it certainly seems quite promising as it is.
Mate, this ute is ridiculous! Loving it. Want to supercharge mine eventually. Just wondering what it set you back for supply & fitting? Looks great!
