Hi guys I'm in the process of a complete engine rebuild and I think I've made a boo boo.
I diped my pistons in hydrochloric acid for a few seconds to loosen the carbon. But the wrist pin was still in place. Would the acid have screwed these pins? They look fine but I am yet to remove them to see.

Not sure if it would have eaten em, but for cleaning carbon deposits off etc I find B1 works wonders and leaves no residue once it evaporates.

New standard pistons are way cheap. I wouldn't even bother re using a stock piston as the 0.001" ptfe coat comes off the skirts and puts the piston to bore spec out by around 20%!!! Gudgeons may be the least of your worries
