hi all just putting in new thermostat in my l67. when i place it in the housing it seems to be to deep so it wont sit down flush even with the rest top bolted on.. do i need an o ring or someing else? thanks. the3 gasket doesnt make any difference to the fitment.. i have done ecotech and works fine as it only has a small dish for it to fit into.

The thermostat has a rubber gasket around it that seals it inplace in the LIM before the housing goes on. It slips over the rim of the thermostat.

Correct, as immortality said.
I purchased a replacement one and it did not come with the rubber seal/ring,
So I had to re-use the one from the old one.
Below is an example of what it should look like before installing it.
