Interested to hear of any special tips or tricks to fix or is it just as simple as replace the hose, top up coolant and good to go ?

Hose has had it - good catch, especially before it dropped its bundle
Just check over all the other hoses while you’re at it - if that hose is knackered, there could very well be others

I’ve also heard spring type clamps are better than worm clamps as they hold a more even and better compression over the rubber hose. Obviously spring clamps need to be of made of quality spring steel and designed appropriately for a specific hose.

I also prefer spring clamps for their simplicity of design but sometimes detest spring clamps for their sharp edges.

All done.....

Went with worm clamps in the end.

Parts store guy agreed with the theory of spring clamps holding tension even under shrinkage of the hose yet recommended worm clamps for ease of use.

Have to agree....those springs clamps and the access to them are a right pain in the butt.

Just check clamps every now and then I did this morning and tightened about one turn on 4 clamps.
I tighten mine till the rubber starts to come thru the tighting slats run your finger and you will feel the rubber hose coming out that`s tight enough.
As you can see in post above.

Yeah, spring clamps are a pain in the butt as is having to go back and check worm clamps are tight or worse still finding you’ve over tightened them and they jump teeth.

I’ll stick with spring clamps or try some quality t-bolt clamps next time I change hoses.

Not to mention the absolute missiles they can become when you try to recompress them.
