Anyone had a cam and lifter package done on a L98 ve lately?? Looking at getting it done as ive got the dreaded lifter tick and may as well get it done now. Just wondering how much it cost drive in drive out and who did it.

Can you post a video? What makes you so sure it's the lifters?

Could be an oil pump starving the lifters.

Could even be the pick up seal cavitating and pulling air.

Could be? Ill find out today when mechanic checks it out. Heres hoping its not a fudged lifter. Not keen on spending big dollars yet. Though a forged rebuild is on the books way down the track

Have you tried running some nulon lifter free in your oil? It’s really good stuff for quietening noisey lifters although if they are stuffed it’s not gonna help but it’s cheap enough so might be worth a go

As harrop.senator said I'd recommend if you can get the oil pressures checked and that'll say if the oil pump has issues as if it does you'll be wanting to not drive the car at all and get it looked at sooner then later. Trust me on this as I just went through noisy lifters and then oil light only to discover it was the pump. That wasnt a fun experience to have when I'd just bought the car 2 and a bit months earlier
