The LY7 manifold is what it has if it has the motor.
They have the same sensors to a point. The LY7 has addition internal components that will be hard to make work. Really hard.
The exhaust cams have variable timing and there are two extra associated cam sensors for the exhaust cams.

LE0 has only variable timing on the inlet cams and just two associated cam sensors to operate them.

It will do your head in to get the two motors to work on each others wiring and ECM.

So just under the starter motor is the engine number. It will start with either LY7 or LE0.

I can get a photo of the two. I have both motors but not until tomorrow arvo. It's cold and dark outside.

Make sure you get your old motor. All the wiring harness from the new motor. The sensors at least from your old motor.
Get that alternator as well. There's some goodies attached there that you could sell to recoup some costs. Or at least keep for spares, like the alternator, power steering pump, water pump, ECM, associated hoses. Coils. Injectors. Keep all of it.

Lol thats fine mate i dont blame you.. Im beggining to lose confidence tho
I cant check those details until tomorrow as well...
R u a mechanic in perth?
Can we chat direct... This motor has been doin my head in for the last 12 momths over 12 mechanics have guessed ans speculated but know one has been able to even diagnose all the problems ive been having.. Eveything including the ecu has been replaced pretty much except for the pistons, rods and lifters.. So many random codes i cant keep up.. Im desperate..

This is the back of the LY7 plenum. This is the motor that controls the internal airflow in the plenum. I have this one in the garage

It would not be bolted to an LE0.

Am I a mechanic? lol. No way. I would not enjoy this stuff.

Lots of codes being thrown?
What codes? They should all lead to some clues. The codes don’t tell you what sensor is broken. It tells the technician data is not as anticipated.

Your experience over the last 12 months is the very reason why I started teaching myself this stuff.
12 businesses should have been able to correctly follow diagnostic procedures that are guided by Snap-On diagnostic interfaces, Tech2 interfaces and available factory data to correctly diagnose a fault.
They just want to change oil and charge people for it. The hard stuff is too hard for them. The whole industry needs a wake up call and the TAFE system needs to introduce a far heavier focus on diagnostics, to a point where it is a specialised part of the automotive industry like diesel fitters and techs are.

Here’s a guy I love to watch.

I notice that two other videos calling out dealerships in great detail have been deleted from his channel.

Mate I totally agree with everything you said it's actually a mechanic that screwed it all up in the beginning.. Id really would love to talk to you rather than text cause there's so many things I would like to ask you and to be honest the mechanic working on it now is learning so much he can't believe it.. Theres been so many codes its ridiculous everything from ABS to cam sensors and I know there's nothing wrong with them that's the problem.. in the meantime turns out the motor I have from the VE is the same it's a leo too.. There have been so many twists and turns the car has blocked every attempt I have made to try and repair it.. youde probably be interested in a lot of it.. I wonder how much of it would be new to you.. as I said I would love to chat with you if your ok with it.. it would save a lot of back and forth I could tell you about this by txt but it would forever you may be able to answer a few questions that I just cannot get answers for.. . Just incase.. 0405716915.. Scott

They look the same.. The mechabic has told me the VE motor has the small motor at the back of the engine for the intake.. But he said it wont mattet coz hes going to use the vz manifold... They both have the same sensors.. Otherwise the sump is the only other difference.. Does it sound like it will work to you? ... I have to say im a little worried it won't but in theory it should
Hi mate remember me? are you still around?.. I'm really desperate and so close it's ridiculous but I need your help really bad
