    Starter motor perhaps????????????

My Daughters VT got slower and slower turning over and was slow to start. Took off the old starter and replaced it with a new one and.....BINGO......all fixed.

A mechanical guessed its the fuelpump. I think he is right, because the starter motor sounds normal...

One more question to the transmission fluid change:

    Is THIS ALL NECESSARY?
    http://forums.justcommodores.com.au...-2002/207185-vt-transmission-replacement.html

Sabbath, u said, drain and replace filter and seal... Is that all u would do? Why not all the others steps that were made in the tutorial i linked u?

And how exactly - or where do i have to do that? Cant find any good howto for my vt...

    Edit:
It was only the fuel pump relay :)

Hey don`t take the whole trans out mate, he just told you about servicing the thing. its like changing the oil in the engine you dont need to take the engine out of the car to do it, seeing as its confusing the first thing you should do is get at least 1 workshop manual and read up on your car. hell even the pros have them for reference.

Edit... I`m home and board so decided to do the search for you.
aussies guide is what you need.

I cant stress getting a service manual enough.

I have both of these. as one might not cover certain subject as good as the other and vice verse between them they get the job done, also there are CD Holden manuals, but as I`ve never owned one I can not comment on how great/not so they are.

    Hey guys,

Just wanted to let u know that i bought a new starter motor, but before i installed it, i double checked thefuel lines with the fuel filter off - bingo! No fuel is coming at all after i changed the filter according to the howto in which it is recommended to unplug the FUEL PUMP RELAY.

Then i tried another relay, and THERE I WENT ;) it worked! No fauts at the starter motor, as i thought! As long your starter motor rounds you Dont have to replace it! Check fuel first and relays (lol).

Thanks though for all ur information!

Now my car is serviced by myself and saved at least a few hundreds $$$$

    Hey,

For those who would like to service their car by theirselves, please keep in mind that a v6 3.8 liters NOT supercharged should get replaced the oxygen sensors every 50,000ks. Even if they are ones of bosch. Source:
    http://www.bosch.com.au/content/language1/downloads/Oxgen_Sensor__Cat_WEB.pdf

And clean your throttle body with throttlebody cleaner (10$) and clean your maf sensor with maf sensor cleaner (25$) or pay 17$ more and replace it. Only 42$ a gm genuine one on ebay.

If you do that, your fuel economy will be better.
