After 11 and 1/2 years we are going to part from our VR, it has been the best car I have owned but it is time to move on. As a one owner vehicle since new and in excellent condition, alway serviced on time we were "offered" $2500.00 trade in. I will remember the water pump and fuel pump as well as the inlet manifold gasket, not to mention the sqeaking steering and how to fix it or thumping on the dash to get the fuel and temp. gauges working, or the fuel regulator that caused to so must " what the F" going on here or even the worn 'O' ring in the power steering resevoir. 3 sets of shockys and 5 sets of tyres. arhhhh I'll miss you. But salary packaging and a 2.0 litre turbo diesel VW Golf has shown the way ahead at this terriblly sad time . It's like putting a good dog down, something you dred and regret for the rest of your days. merlinp.
That's a good run! 11 1/2 years is a good run out of a car. My VS is well past 8, which is easily the oldest car I have ever had. I even got rid of the second hand ones well before 8 years. I have similar sentiments. I bought a VY S2 about a year ago, not because the VS needed to move on, but because there were going to be no more Executive manuals from the VZ. Thirteen months later, the VY has just over 4,000 Km because I still drive the VS whenever I can. It has done about 20,000 Km in the same time. I am hanging on to it, to pass to my 16 year old son when he gets his licence, so it has many more years in the family to go. All the best with the new car.
ok if u dont like holden mate p off to a crappy ford forum or something just dont harass the people who actually take this site seriously

Damn, I'm sorry about it, Uh.... one thing though what did you do to the car. Buried it? had a funeral? or gave it to the wreckers? Mate I'd would dig up my back yard and and have a small funeral. I'm not just saying its stupid. The question is why not? The car deserved to by buried - not being pulled apart by the wreckers! Keep that damn thing in one piece!
