Ok I found a VL body number of L292,805. Is this NOT part of the serial numbering for the holden. The car was made in June 1988. I have a pic of it.

The VN started around this number....

Bugger. Whats the number I found then? L292,805. What does it relate to on the VL? Puzzled now. The number is so close to the start of the VN serial numbers. Just 1 of those things I suppose!

I'd get one of the VL guys that had a car in 88 to post up a VIN for you, we do have a VIN number so I'm not quite sure whats going on there.

If none of the vl guys can help out I'll find one later.. Even on ebay you may find a VIN listed.

From what I remember weeks 4 a model change, but that depends on if the new model is a all new car or an update say vn to vp the more changes the longer time..

VIN vehicle identification number, a unique alphanumeric combination of 17 characters assigned to a vehicle. It does NOT contain the letters I , O or Q.

Vin number attached to motor vehicles manufactured on or after the 1st January 1989..:)
