does anybody know if the later model V6 airboxes, i.e. VX,VY will fit into the VN as these have a much larger filter area/flowpath and the possibility of housing a pod filter?:yeah:
If all you're after is the ability to have a pod housed in there, make a custom box out of sheet metal. Would be easier and cheaper than stuffing around trying to mod a 'new' air box to fit.
trying to maintain a fairly standard look under the bonnet, i'm also of the opinion that the top half of the standard VN airbox withthe belmouth is a flow restriction where as thelater model airboxes look to have a much better flow potential, might givethe local Holden wrecker a call and get his opinion? edit:called the wrecker, he had no idea, fat loada good he was
That's the same as the VN one. The later ones have a muuuuuch bigger filter, I've thought about using them as a base for a new airbox myself but havn't tried it. That's on my list of things to do one day, perfect the VN/S airbox and inlet
exactly what i was trying to do, i just rying to figure out if it will bolt in as is or will need modifying b 4 is spend my hard earned cash and find it's going to cost a fortune to make it all work
Personally I dont think the difference would be all that major between the VS setup and the VT setup. On the weekend i'll try and take the air induction setup out my dads VT and see what sorta problems there are when trying to fit it into my VN.
You'll find the VT/X box is WAY to tall to sit where yours currently is. If you did cut it down, it would even be hard to utilise the VT/X snorkel to fit too.
cheers, be interesting to see if it fits, after all, Holden didn't change the design unless there was a good reason:yeah:
Hmm well i'll see on the weekend. It obviously wont just fit straight in, otherwise it woulda been done before I would think.. But hopefully not too much needs to be changed?
