Yeah, but they are only talking about peak power and on a much larger engine. Even if the blower doesn't add much peak power it will add a decent chunk of torque in the low to mid RPM range where it will provide significantly more air than the engine otherwise gets. What I find is the yanks are far to pre-occupied with peak power and completely forget about torque. Most of us will never see peak power driving around on the street but we sure will make use of the low to mid RPM torque band when you give it a squirt from the lights or coming out of a corner.
Sometimes I'm a lazy driver and can't be bothered turning the wheel much but it is easy when you have gobs of low rpm torque under your right foot and just use that to "steer the car" around a tight corner.
