Guys,

Just a quick one - in my Calais warning lamp display (the strip where the indicators are), just right of the park brake light, there's an LED (not a normal globe like every other one) with no symbol - it's just a circle. It's not mentioned in the manual and I'm not sure what it's for - but given Holden have specifically put an LED in there it must be for something.

Anyone able to give me an idea as to what? If not then I'm gonna use it for my alarm I think :)

Ok on the electronic facia it goes as follows left to right

Left turn indicator
Brake fail
High beam
alternator fail (blank on the SL & berlina facia)
right turn
reverse (blank on the SL & berlina facia)
Park Brake
Blank on calais (low oil on SL & berlina)
blank on calais (EST on carbie SL & berlina)
Lights on (blank on the SL & berlina facia)
Photo sensor (blank on the SL & berlina facia)

I've noticed the same LED in my cluster, I thought it may have been a modification by the last owner. I'll check it out tonight for ya.

Ah I always thought the photo sensor was on the right of the rear dimister indicator.. Never checked myself but a mate said it once.

I'm told its supposed to adjust the brightness of your electronic dash to reduce glare, but if you ask me its just there to **** you.

Been meaning to bypass my dimming circuit..

I would've thought that an LDR would be used.

Well - question answered - cheers :)

(though I can't say it makes a difference... cover it with my hand or shine a torch on it, no different!)
