just purchased led parker lights for my vy commodore and just wondering is it hard to change the stock light with the new led
yeah mate im in same boat, easy work, but they are weird and have a set polarity (as far as i know) It is really tight getting your hands in and out of the cavity to remove the globe, i ended up giving up and just sticking them in the rear number plate lights.
but it is possible, Im 6'3 and got hands like dinner plates. the parker for the vys is in its own cavity. reach down and twist it. its a little black handle from memory. Ill get a pick if you want?
can anyone help how do u take the interior light covers of i want to change the colour of them but cannot work out how to take the plastic cover off
go to ricerbarn with the stock globes and say you want them in blue. they have them (cause I have all green in my lol)
I have blue ones! If you want them i can sell them at $5 plus postage [if you buy multiple it's still one postage charge]. But remember that blue LED's arn't that bright at all [due to it's wavelength]! I just threw one in my VY last night to see if it's good, it's ok, but i kept the clear ones directed to the front seats in in case i actually need to see things like a map or CD! Also remember that LED's are directional, so the light doesn't spread as well. The ones i have are 6 LEDs in one globe, but you will loose the "fading" light effect.
I only changed the middle interior one. I left the current ones for the ones that aim forward and the boot. My back doors dont have lights! Reason i kept the white lights for the directional lights is just in case i need to read a map or find something at the front of the car. Otherwise it looks good! I might be able to get some pics up for ya
trentvy did u say autobarn have the coloured led parker lights???? can u get a price for purple ones bro coz i bought purple of ebay but just read they dont work after a week or so? and would u maybe interested in purchasing them and i will transfer money to ur account and postage costs to whyalla south aus
Tried getting some pics, but it was too dark to show up on my mobile's camera. I need to invest in a proper camera i think LOL But anyways, you can see things in the back with it, but no hope finding stuff in the front if you dont have the directional lights on. But since the file sizes are small, this is a pic of the actual LED light (has 6 small LEDs in it): And this is of the LED light with one of the directionals on (to give you an idea of brightness).
iv got white leds inside...but i also have them in the directionals they do the job just fine although not as bright as the stock ones u can still very easily read a map. Also are white leds for parkers illegal?
not sure on purple parkers. I tried looking for pink for a friend and couldnt find them. idno if you could get purple either. Ive only seen blue red green white. and there about $15 bucks for the pair. Also there is my car. with green interior, neons, and parkers.
