I've just got some led strip 5050 smd 300 led 5 meters. I've touched + and - on my roof light, all lit up. I cut the strip (at a 3rd led interval) and wired it up on my fuse cover to light up the footwell. This went perfectly. Now I bought some connectors with about 6 inch of wire that the led strips slide into, I tried hooking the led strip in, and no light. I tried power directly to the copper of the led strip (from roof light again) but no lights, tried directly from the battery, no light. What can the problem be? And I am 100% sure the polarity is correct. Varnish over the copper has been scratched off, and the waterproofing silicone has been cut correctly. Please help.

Cut it at the next connection interval and start again.

Tried and didn't work. Then I figured the strip was made wrong, it was. Instead of the + and - being in the middle, they were on the outside edge, whew, didn't waste my money.
