I am considering buying a full set of LED globes for my 00 VX Berlina. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience purchasing these items and if they look aesthetically pleasing?

For example: Do they interfere with the red tint already around the taillight/headlight housing? Like red led on red tint making a strange colour?

I cant speak for VX, but on VR/VS there is bugger all difference. I have some next to me. Total waste of money IMO. I'm playing with converting VR/VS lenses to have the modern runs of LEDs instead of a globe at all, DRL style but as tail brake/ lights.

I have seen a VS around with LED lights in stock tail lights, All it looked like were 2 round dots, Not bright at all. Guessing he only had singles in them.
Word of warning, If you fit them into the indicator sockets, your indicators will flash faster as its not discharging the power like a standard bulb.

You are better off using white leds with the red lens in the brake and tail lights.
The red colour has a lower wave length than white and will not shine as bright through the diffused red lens.
However, a coloured light will be ok through a clear lens.

Use the white, as above it will be brighter. LED is usually duller than filament globes. I have them in my parkers and number plate lights only so I dont have to keep replacing them. Looking better is a bonus.

If you use LED brake lights with no load resistors your cruise control will probably stop working, based on a number of threads on this site.

Purpose made brake/tail light leds from reputable suppliers, "usually" have them either inbuilt, or they are externally wired and come as a package.
But it would be wise to check first.
