legal limit for lowering car

:rofl: nah man.
It must be 100mm off the ground at the lowest point... not including wheels and mudflaps basically. A coke can is around 140mm tall for the record.
There may also be eye height requirements for WA and Tas as there is here in SA but i'll check later.

Here are the WA Guidelines regarding the lowering of a vehicle... I underlined some of the ones that are more important to note:
a) Cutting, welding, heating or bending of any suspension component is not permitted.
b) Coil springs must be securely mounted so there is no lateral movement when the suspension is fully extended.
c) A recognized spring maker must carry out any resetting of springs.
d) A vehicle must not be lowered more than a third of the full bump clearance originally specified by the vehicle manufacturer on vehicles not fitted with McPherson strut suspension.
e) After lowering, a vehicle should maintain a horizontal attitude or the OEM specified attitude.
f) Ground clearance of a vehicle must be not less than 100mm with the vehicle loaded or all seating positions occupied.
g) A vehicle must be able to pass over a peak in the road with a gradient either side of 1:15 (without any interference with any part of the car except for mudflaps).
h) Headlight height must not to be lower than 500 mm measured from the level ground to the lower edge of the illuminated area of the light.
i) Park and indicator lamps must be 350 mm minimum height, measured from the ground to the lower edge of the illuminated area of the light.
j) Vehicles fitted with a McPherson strut suspension systems may sometimes be considered acceptable when lowered by more than a third of the full bump clearance. However, adequate suspension travel must be demonstrated and the tyres must not be in contact with the vehicle body or the mudguards when the vehicle is fully laden (all seating positions occupied) and turning on full lock. Lighting height requirements and ground clearances must always be complied with.
k) Shock absorbers must be correctly specified to suit the suspension of the vehicle and to ensure that they allow adequate suspension travel under normal driving conditions.
l) Certain other specialised suspension systems may be subject to other specific requirements not listed here.
m) Not withstanding these guidelines, any vehicle that does not drive satisfactorily as a result of modification will not be acceptable.
