    Hey guys,

Finally got around to testing all the level 3 functions, trip computer and everything works fine except for the Over Speed.

I have tried setting it at a few different speeds and when I go over no light comes up or no chime (if its meant to chime)

Anybody got some ideas as to what it could be? Does anybody which number globe it is on the cluster because i'll check that too.

Edit: Seems to be fixed took the globe out, tested it with a battery and it worked so I put it back in the cluster and it works now. Weird.. musn't have been in properly.

All lvl 3 clusters chime, but for you to be sure you need one that works with an over speed chime...
if your unsure, check the ribbon cables connecting the unit to the rest of the tacho...
failing it dosn't work, grab another lvl cluster, pref a statesman as i know they chime!

If it's not making the chime noise - it will have been removed from the cluster.

Cheers Shane, if it has been removed is it easy to slap another one in? Or do you have to take the whole cluster apart?

It's cluster out, lens off and it plugs into the middle right at the front of the cluster. The chime is silver and like a wod of 5c bits about 1cm thick.

Take about 10 mins to put one in. I have a box of them - people take them out after a few weeks of low fuel warnings and the like.

The chime is silver and round - about the size of a 5 cent bit. If you have the lens off - it's the only round silver thing on the cluster and is front & center inbetween the warning lamps along the bottom of the cluster.

If it dont bite you when the lens comes off - you dont have one in the cluster :)

Cluster out on the bench - 3 screws hold the front cover (lens) onto the cluster case. Take this lens off and you will know if you have a chime or not.

Bite you :) as in you will be looking right at it. (if it's in the cluster)

My VS also chimes(both of them I have had) so yours should too. Defitnately something wrong with the one you got, maybe a faulty wiring or something?? Again my mate also has a VR and his also chimes..
So yer, have fun fixing it.
