My Calais Dash lower Computer Display has blown a back light i checked it out and there isnt any bulbs to replace Is there a fix for this or throw it away :bang:
Pull trip computer out - white long thingo out of the cluster. Undo 3 screws and flip lid over. 4 flat round black things are the globes. slot screw driver in and 1/2 twist to get them out
I was going to say the exact same thing, it pulls appart, and it pulls appart again, and again, etc, etc.
Bulbs are like $20 each and in my case, dealer had to get them in from interstate blah blah... I installed blue LED's with resistor - much better look, and they should never blow in my lifetime.
I did the same also. But you could use any colour. I also did my climate control module and trip computer buttons, but they didn't turn out so well.
I changed mine to Blue leds. the bulbs are easy to change just make sure when you pull the trip computer unit apart to not over tighten the screws when putting back together... the plastic gets very brittle in these and is so easy to break... and not so hard to find a replacement...
