Hi,

Can someone please help?

I need to know how to replace the standard light bulbs on the headlights on the VT Commodore. From what I can see you need to remove 2 bolts that hold the mounts in? Which would mean removing the battery on the driver side?

No....You don't have to remove any bolts.

At the back of the headlights there are round headlight bulb covers.

Rotate these anti-clockwise to remove and to access the headlight globes.

The drivers side you will have to remove the battery to gain access to the headlight bulb covers.

yeah, you will need to move the battery on the RHS to be able to fit the new globes. All you do is undo the battery holder then move the battery a few inches towards the passenger side. This way you can still keep everything connected to the battery. It only took me 15 minutes to change globes.

I reccomend changing the park globe while you are there, that way you wont have to go through the process for a while.

Thank you for the replied guys.

One question though. The twist cover I can get off but it appears that the lights are held in by a bracket with 2 screws (it looks brass or something) This is why I initially though I would have to unbolt it.

Its a 9C1 if that makes any difference?

Again, thank you for your replies I really appreciate it.

They are just the bulb retainer springs, squeeze them and pull back softly then you will be able to remove the bulb.

Btw, Don't touch the glass surface of the bulb with your fingers because the oil from your skin could cause it to overheat and fail prematurely.

If you do touch the glass surface, clean it with some isopropyl alcohol.
