Hi all,

I am rarely driving my VX S Pack at the moment, but a few weeks ago I took it out to get some things at the shops. I always park at the back of the car park away from everyone else, this time I came out and it looks like someone has damaged my rear door with a dent that looks like a line and it has a ripple effect going on to.

I am not too worried as for the most part you cannot see it, but it annoys me as the car is in immaculate condition.

I have already given the area a good clean and used a professional dent removal puller which improved it and also given the area a buff too. I was just wondering if there are any another methods or tools that could even out this dent?

Thanks.

Youd likely need to get in behind the panel ... ideally you want a nice hot day so the panel is heated or you could use a hot water bottle to warm it ...I used to wrap a bit of rag around a large round socket and push it/ rub it up and down along the dent following the contour of the panel but not straying to much off the dent ...used too work for me ....good news for your dent is it is not heavily grooved..... *no liability whatsoever accepted a certain level of skill is required*... (you would be rubbing /pushing the rounded edge of the socket against the surface not the top or bottom of the socket)...placing your other hand on the exterior of the panel will help you feel whats happening.... , Ive also used the end of large screwdriver handles with a rag wrapped over the top to get more leverage... others may have some alternative ideas... my 10 cents

Thanks for the input, I appreciate it. I might take off the inner door card/skin at some stage and have a go at evening it out some more from the inside.

Thanks again.

Wow, $50 sounds very good. I got quotes by PDR Technicians in my area (Melbourne) and they all wanted around the $250 - $400 mark to remove my line dent.

Ye this fella is a good bloke, took him 10 min or less and gave it a bit of a buff but couldn't get all the scratches out, my damage was the same as your , just a small line dent. Hopefully i can get her to pay for it, though i do feel a bit bad for forcing her to pay

I got the scratches removed today , cost $150 , i think he was working it out by the minute because, geez he could talk, it did take him about 30 min to do the job and if you look very closely you can slightly see where the scratches were but for what it cost i was happy.

Wow looks much better. I ended up getting a few more quotes on mine and most still want at least $300 to fix mine. I am not sure if I am going to worry about it, I have already partly repaired it myself and you can only see the dent from certain angles, plus the car is a daily driver so it is bound to get some minor damage at some stage.
