OK , one of the guys at work just bought a VS Statesman ,and while a few of us were checking it out one of the other guys in a VS wagon pulled up in the next parking bay .When he got out and locked his car with his remote ,it also locked the doors on the statesman .We thought it could have been a coincidence that they both locked their cars at the same time . But the guy with the wagon done it half a dozen times and it locked and unlocked both cars . Anyone else seen or heard of this happening ?

The remote for the Stato doesn't work , battery is flat But when he opened the door with the key the horn beeped a couple of time but the car still started .

It's plausible because each key works to a different frequency, but there is a limit to the range of frequencies available. Eventually, you would expect overlaps to occur as more and more cars are manufactured. The chances of two cars working on the same frequency being side by side is extremely remote but it can happen, as you found out.

You would be there for a long time and the Car has no way of telling your "device" that the action has worked, you wouldn't store the code and then would be unable to start the car.

It would take a very, very long time too.
