I'm getting my VX Clubsport re-painted and wondered if there's anyone out there that's painted their Holden satin black?

This is where I'm at with the rebuild.

    Hey cheers for the pix.
From what I can see satin black isn't as bad as some people say. I guess I'll know for sure once the paint is on.
It would be nice to see some pix dry as paint when it's wet can look different.

now you are testing me, I don't know what my colour is called :) You are talking about that matte look aren't you?

My VXII Clubsport is black, has a gold fleck through it.

VERY nice! I'm looking for paint that's not as glossy. Cheers.

If you want to give it a try on the cheap to see what it looks like you could always go with vinyl wrap for a while.

Wow. Cheers for uploading Mr Superhelpfulness. :)
The full Matt paint/plastic isn't really my cuppa tea. But a satin job might look better.

    Interesting.
    Cheers for the pointers.
To be fair, I've only had the engine bay painted satin black, it looks so far off matt it almost looks gloss. But I could be wasting my time with it.
Seeing these pix of the matt paint really does turn me off.

Yeah man hard to look after. If you hook in with your sponge too much while washing it then that spot will be slightly shinier forever and ever and ever and ever ya know? If it's your weekend car and it stays in the garage allot it's not as bad, if it's your daily Forget It!

    Ok. Cheers.
I'm no fan of the Matt at all for all the reasons above. I have a twin brother who owns a gloss black Maloo. We hate to do the same thing (our mum used to dress use in the same gear from birth, it started back then lol).
So we always try and be subtly different. :)

Yes there's a big difference between a sedan and a ute.
    If you're a twin you'd understand.
Anyway. I'm not going to have the same "gloss black" paint on my V8 Holden. ;)
