Greetings from the US!

I'm looking for a little bit of help sourcing a speedo drive gear for a t5.

I am using a tail housing from a commodore (part number 0552 066901) to fit a new WC Tremec T5z (mustang) into my 1972 Datsun 240z.

This tail housing gets me the WC bushing diameter and puts the shifter exactly where I need it. BUT... the speedo drive gear appears to be much larger OD than the gears from anything available in the states (Camaro / Firebird / S-10 / Mustang / TKO / TKX / T-5 / T-5z).

My supplier that is using my Datsun / Tremec / Commodore parts (yup total frankenstein) is at a loss (www.moderndriveline.com).

I would settle for a picture of the drive gear at this point. I've tried Ebay.au but not having much luck.

Thanks!

Jay

Are you going to convert the speedo drive to cable?
Is it possible?

@grey_hawk that is my plan. I'm going to try to use my stock 240z mechanical speedo and my franken T5 (Datsun 280ZX NWC T5 bellhousing, new Tremec T5-Z trans, and the commodore WC T5 tailhousing) with the 8 tooth drive and 23 driven speed gears from a commodore (3.45 datsun rear diff on 205/55 R16 tires.

I found the drive gear and it is on the way, I also found the driven gear but the guy on ebay.au will not ship to the US. I have a friend that is trying to work that last bit.

I've been told that a speedo cable from a Ford 4 speed toploader will be the final piece.

Thanks!

Jay
