Lose of power, using to much fuel

    Hey every one i need help with a frustrating issue, i have a vs caprice that has brand new alternator, battery an all wires replaced and is still losing power and sits on bout 10 volts at idle and only goes up wen reved and us using alot of fuel since this started happening.. Have also replaced coolent temp senders.. I took the car to a local performance shop and they said it is doing something funny but cant work out wat
    Any kind of help would be muchly appreciated

    V8..
    Its got 180 thousand kms, car is stock standard only parts changed are the new alternator and battery, it all started after the electric thermo stopped workin and could not get it workin again, its had a conputer put on it to check codes an everything was fine but the bloke it is doing something odd and using alot of fuel but they dont no why

    When you say electric thermo, do you mean the A/C thermo fan in front of the radiator or have you had thermos installed to replace the clutch fan? If it's the A/C thermo then you should disconnect it to see if that makes a difference - you may be getting some sort of voltage/current loss there. There is a connector on the front at the driver's side about half way between the radiator and the guard that you can use to disable the thermo fan. Failing that you should take your car to an auto electrician.
