With the old place I built myself being finished the wife and I are now getting a home built. The above plan is only a sketch as the draftsman has made some errors. Shed is right though. 10.5m x 9.m, 3.5m walls and a 17deg roof. Plan is to eventually get a hoist.

Mowed the block on the weekend. Hoping some time next week the house plans will be finished. Should be able to lodge building application by mid August. Then hopefully shed approved 6-8 weeks later and get it erected by early - mid October. Once the shed is up I can start moving some gear from my other shed to clean it up. At the moment I have gear everywhere in my shed and even have to move gear to access the pit.

I know it's a little early but I thought what the heck. In anticipation for the new shed I have just start to build a new work bench for the new shed. I had some timber I found on the new block that I suspect the neighbour had dumped, even though it was still good. Plan is to build my custom bench with doors and shelves to hide my power tools. I have made it a tad wider than I want but this is to allow me to trim it down to fit snug in between the end pillars. The timber top needs a clean up with the belt sander as will the legs and rails. I will be mostly built from treated pine so should be ok to sit under the eaves with a cover on it. It's a good job I can do in Town as I don't need a huge amount of tools. Unlike mechanical work where I have found you can get part way through a job and become stuck because it's pretty hard to predict every tool you might need for a job.

Yep, I can build a lot of this bench with what I already have. Hopefully I can build it to completion for under $150. The dearest part will be the doors as I will probably use white coated board.

First pic looks like private donut pad...start practicing.

Dudes at work say everytime they cleared vacant land before building neighbours would all dump more crap on there.

Got the bench 3/4 finished. I still need some boards for the shelves. I am thinking VJ lining boards as they will be cheap and light. I have left over 150 x 25 but it's too much work and mess to plane them down to 12mm and leaving them full thickness means a lot of extra weight. I'm in two minds though VJ board will cost money which I'm trying to avoid. As I want to keep costs down. Need to find out the price before I can really decide.
