It's just a screw mate, go chuck any old one in there.
I could but that will be a last resort. I'm trying to keep what I can VR/VS specific. Unfortunately what you have suggested is what most people think of these old ute's. But when you spend a lot of hours and a lot of money on paint and other repairs it comes down to the little things that IMHO makes the difference.

I even go as far as to etch the rust off some of my bolts and screws when I refit them and then repaint them like they would have been originally. I might be being anal, but it's just the way I am........

As you can see it has a slight dome on top and a taper underneath.

Talking to a mate and turns out the VRs and VS don't come with the screws I posted, apparently they all come with the flat black screws that are also used on the rest of the inner guards. I had two new ones from Rare Spares. I popped those in just now, and all good. Turns out just another incorrect part fitted by a PO that I assumed was original, simply because it looked right.

Scoures the world for a screw... finds one... looks good... fits good... :D
But it's not a good screw, so finds another... looks better, fits better, is standard...

Yep, you've got restorers disease... really bad :p:p

So talking to our WHS manager at work today and we got chatting about the PDR bloke in Launceston. I think I might go back and see what he has to say. The ute has come a long way since I went to him a few years ago. I might just ask him again and see if he will work on it. Apparently he is good at what he does. If he gives me the cold shoulder again, then I need to consider a day off work and make a trip to Hobart, maybe show day later this year as that's only a PH in the north of the State.
