It takes me less than 2 minutes to get my VF in a position to service (front anyway, abotu 10 minutes if I want the rear up too all level).
Costco arcann jack with a piece of wood across the entire k frame, jack up from middle.
Jack stands on lift point.
Done.
2 mins, no fuss, easier than driving onto ramps (I have ramps too, my calais with stock front suspension easily drives up without touching)

I agree 100%. Low profile floor jack. 4 Jack stands. Literally 5 mins work to lift safe and level and then oil change away we go.

Low profile floor jack
Can you get a jack with a low enough profile to go under the front of a lowered car? Mine's fairly low but I have to use a scissor jack under the rocker panel first to raise the car enough to get the trolley jack underneath.

I guess my old twin piston Blue Point jack was pretty low profile in the day I bought it off the Snap- on tool truck (2004) 18 years ago!

To get my floor jack underneath I have to lift the ute with my body and use my foot to push the jack underneath.

Prior to the hoist I would jack the drivers side up with the trolley jack and then throw a block of wood I had under the front wheel, then slide the jack under the front cross member. Couple minutes extra.

Macho macho man, I want to be a macho man:)
Not quite, it doesn't take much to get a little flex in the suspension. 15-20mm is enough to get the jack under the sill and onto the strong part.

Hi everyone,

Just coming back to options for low profile ramps. I'm looking at plastic ramps which are available at Repco and Supercheap. Still a little reluctant to use plastic vs steel but these have some really good reviews and look like they will work with the low clearance on the VF.

Does anyone have any feedback or experience that they can share on these?

Thanks in advance :)

If you're after a low-profile garage jack there are plenty of options available from Kincrome:
https://www.kincrome.com.au/lifting

I have the K12165 2t low-profile and it works really well for my non-lowered SV6.

Their K12164 1.1t super low-profile is lower and longer so is suitable for lowered cars, even if you want to lift the whole front of vehicle from the cross member behind the radiator rather than the side pinch welds.

Hi everyone

It's been a while since I created this post however I thought I'd update you with the solution I found recently.

I ended up purchasing a set of the Stanfred Low Profile Car Ramps from Repco during the recent Boxing Day sales. I picked these up for $252 the pair.

https://www.repco.com.au/en/tools-e...-1400kg-made-in-australia-crtp1400/p/A5516637

And here's a photo of my VF Calais having successfully made the ascent to the top of the ramps ready for servicing. Yet to try them out on my father's SV6 however lining them up on the ground indicates that there should be enough clearance.

Hopefully this helps some other members who have been looking for a suitable solution.

Cheers
