Okay, i have 99 series 3 Charged Statesman. I want to lower it but apparently its not that easy because i have IRS. Can someone explain to me why this is such a problem? Something about having to camber my wheels or something or rather.

I'm not the most mechanically inclined, so use simple easy to understand words.

Thanks =D

I have a VS Calais and it also has IRS so I had the same problem. When you lower a car with IRS you get negative camber issues. The lower you go the more negative camber you get. You can get camber kits that will help but it won't make it perfect again.
I have lovell superlows and a 4 point whiteline camber kit and I still have something like -3 camber.
I installed my springs and camber kit myself. The springs are easy enough to do and there are some tutorials in the how to section. But I would recommend getting a professional to install the camber kit, it took me and a mate forever to do it and was a real pain.

IRS is a pain when it come to lowering.

Springs and shocks are easy enough to change, there are a few writeups on how to do the front struts on here. Also as said when you lower it you can do springs and shocks yourself, but you should get the c kit installed and adjusted by a professional, also a wheel aligment on all four wheels will be required.

Any technical reason on why IRS causes issues when lowering, I guess if the OP wanted to take it straight to a shop he would have done so and not posted it.
I'd like to know more on this as well.

The issue is, the lower you go, the more negative camber, which means more tyre wear.

Both my rears are over 3 degrees, but seems ok when it comes to chewing tyres out, not sure if its because of positive toe helping it a bit or not though.

Camber kits only HELP bring out camber a little bit, they dont fix the problem.

It depends how your camber is now. Every car has different camber. I have seen some really bad cambers at even normal height.
