cos i has to raise my car to standard height everytime i get defected..... and standard height is 375 mm from centre cap to wheel arch at the front... and 405 mm from centre cap to wheel arch at the rears.... now i can tell you for a fact that it is dangerous driving at that height.....heres how it sits now which is half an inch lower than FE2 spec....

so if someone with a VG S pack can get a pic of their build plate to double check that it isnt stamped on there cos ive questioned transport SA about it and their book doesnt show the VG to ever come out with FE2 when holden says it does

get holden to put that on paper and next time you get defected wave that in front of em, i'm sure holden would know what they put in there own cars. i hate it when government thinks they know better about someone elses products

I have it still yes, but not added to it for a while. I have all the research still in a box and look up engines and build numbers for people every now and then :)

9/02/1991 489179 PILOT CAR HST DOC 6H8VPX19HML489179
510552 6H8VPX19HML510552
518559 FIRST NUMBER IN PART FINDER BOOK 6H8VPK35HNL518559
8/08/1991 518564 6H8VPX19UML518564

The first 2 are for sure pilot build cars, the 3rd is the first ref to rework on cars and could be the start of production.

So there is possibly 4 other cars that could be a VP V8 (or VN as they still made some VN's at that serial number) So yours is still for sure the first day of production and the chances of other being a V8 very slim

In the owner manual at the front. It says it was purchased by general motors holden salmon st pt melbourne, victoria. on the 8/8/91 (the same day it was built) with 78km on the odo and has "PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT AREA" stamped over the signature.

Must have been SA registered though because it has the same rego number as when i bought it here in SA.

Wow - a very special car. I'd put money on it as the first production V8 VP for sure. And have to wonder what the Product Development Area did for Holden!!! Have to look into what that division did do with the cars.
