    i have a impco lpg mixer for a vr commodore does someone have a diagram of the pipes so i know were they go

    Doesn't a mixer only have 1 connection ?? or are you talking about the convertor ??
    Put up a pic of what you have.

    its a vacum operated mirco switch

    there is a hose coming off it does it have to be on anything

    the hose should be connected to manifold vacum for the switch to work . is it wired to anything ?

    Are you sure it's not venturi vacuum? Manifold vacuum would result in the LPG cutting out at high load. Possibly should be connected into to one of the 'fuel control valve' connections, that is if there is only a single FCV.

    (Off track a bit: where's the MAP sensor got to?)

    manifold vacum is better if hooked into the fcv hose it will have a pulsing vacum signal , tee into the fuel pressure reg or the map sensor line as these dont pulse or drop signal , under high load there is still enough vacum signal to operate the switch .
