Yeah got 7 months of warranty left so HSV for a bit then go bananas. Gives me time to save up for projects too.

I think I have to agree with some of the comments above... the 2nd hand HSV alternatives represent good value, streetable performance and exhaust note improvements over the stock LS3 system... IF you can get the parts at a reasonable price.

Catch is... those HSV bits are getting increasingly more expensive and/or difficult to find, which makes the alternative to just do it once, and do it properly the first time with aftermarket kit, more appealing and less expensive in the long run if you think you'll eventually end up with an aftermarket exhaust system anyhow.

Yes, REX 4-1 headers from GM Motorsport. They are all equal length primaries.

I have them, they flow and sound great.

I would agree. But cost has to be a factor for some. The HSV setup has always been a good low cost option which won't cause any warranty issues. Looks OEM and doesn't require a tune. That's why they're gold. Not because they're the best out there.

correct.
That's why I did it to my first wagon.
Mostly looks and so Holden did not get funny when went into servicing. Warranty issues I mean.
They did not really care in the end.

The 340 KW headers are very hard to find in Adelaide.
I was just lucky to see someone advertise HSV headers and they did not realise that they were the 340 ones....
I should have taken them off when I sold the car and doubled my money.

I’m guessing that with the gmmotorsport 4into1 you need a tune??

Also what are triplestepped pipes?

And what’s the difference between them and the 1 3/4 headers?

Re headers, don't reckon cats move so might be alright? Stepped would mean a changing diameter along the length of the header to the collector. Maybe 1 7/8 to 2'?
