Hey guys,i know there are alot of Clutches out there to choose from ,im just wondering between the 2 ive heard best things about PBR OR Exedy , Vt 5.7 ls1 6spd From prices ive found a Exedy HD is around $1100 And the PBR is around $900 There prices i got from Repco
If your after cheap junk grab one of e bay.Changing a clutch is a few hours work so pick one that will last your driving style.
Well i just put this: Commodore vt vx vy Clutch Kit & Flywheel 5.7 LS1 HD | eBay in my car couldn't recomend it enough:thumbsup: Drives just like a stock clutch at low revs no hopping or stuttering an with all the bite of a HD clutch. I have the normal mods OTR,mafless full zorst.
word is those $395 OEM spec clutches aren't good if you run close to stock, then fine but yeah don't expect them to hold up if you got a heap of rwkw
2001 VX HSV Clubsport R8 Modified to 303.6rwkw - 20+ track days @ Eastern Creek, Oran park(B4 it closed down...) & Wakefiled over 3 yrs... I reckon I got a great "STOCK" clutch then.... :lmao: the biatche just let go a 2 weeks ago and I'm going for a GM LS7 clutch with a LS2 flywheel & slave $945 + going to fit it myself.
A stock clutch will be fine if you don't slip or or slam it, but don't expect to ever be fast down the quarter mile if that is your intention. I've got a Tex Z-grip and wouldn't have it any other way. Little bit cranky if you drive it like a pansy but it just grips and grips. 500rwkw+ and 1200nm+ doesn't worry it.
Love how you can take off in 3rd with a Z- grip and not hurt it as i smashed my ankle up and still need to get around
Hi guys i just slaped in a Exedy HD clutch in i find that it has a slightly harder feel but with vibration but when you giving it some grunt it feels really nice with a possitive firm feel
1 year later with 75% general driving and 25% drag strip and this Exedy HD clutch is rooted ,guess il be looking for another soon
