- VY II LS1 Berlina Sedan / VP SS Manual
Hello All,
I have a daily driven 2003 VY II LS1 Auto (Berlina, Sedan)
After reading countless posts on this topic, I have thought of using the following setup:
- Factory LS2 Manifold (Larger intake hole and four bolt flange)
- 92mm throttle body
- Custom airbox and intake pipe, all black (or if there is a existing of the shelf option, then where)?
- Chipmaster PCM Mafless mail order tune
Why I want to go this way is to have the engine bay look as stock as possible (at least more stock than a OTR setup).
Yeah I know I can still get defected for not having the MAF sensor there but engine looks more stock with an airbox in the factory location than a huge intake at the front of the motor (I am not knocking OTR, awesome proven solution, but not what I want to use).
I already have:
- Pacemaker PH5367 Extractors
- High flow stainless steel cats (Euro II)
- Manta 2.5 Dual all the way with only centre resonators and no rear muffler.
My questions are:
1. Thoughts, opinions??
2. Will the LS2 manifold "100% bolt" to the LS1 block?
I see a lot of people end up doing the mafless tune with the stock throttle body/manifold and not much thought has been into providing a larger diameter intake.
Wouldn't everyone agree that giving a 92mm air inlet is always going to better for the breathing of the motor than the stock 78mm??
I see on Gumtree and ebay quite a few times LS2 owners upgrading their manifolds to FAST 102mm + TB so they end up offloading their factory setup (one is for sale right now for $150).
