I did one. Not that hard. Main wires you need to connect are the battery positive, coil and injector power, ignition on to PCM and fuel pump feed. I used a few different guides off the net to sort it out, I can't remember the exact wires to use though.

Can you just cut and shut the wires up near the brake booster on ls1 loom and body loom?

If anything like the 304 loom as I suspect, you won't need many of those wires from those 3 plus at all.

All those plugs are is the wiring for the body components, BCM, lights, dash etc. The PCM harness is pretty much stand alone as it is.

The only wires needed are these ones really

12V Pink to ignition ON
Blue 34 - Orange/Black - Neutral Safety Switch
Blue 46 - Brown/White - Malfunction Indicator Light

There is nothing else that runs into the cabin that is of any real use.

Everything else on the car will have a separate loom that isn't part of the LS1 harness at all.

You need to power up the left and right banks of the injectors, the earth is triggered from the ECU. You need to power the coils. As long as VATS is disabled in the ECU it should run. You will need an external fuel regulator as well. LS1's had the regulator in the tank, I fit it to the valve fitting on the fuel rail.
