Looking at the vcm intake i would imagine a better design would be for filter to simply slide down through a slot from the top and you could have super simple door/lid that closes on top. That would eliminate the need to remove cai to clean the filter...

Simple letterbox style slot on top...
That would also alow the entire cai to be one piece....

I have the ORSSOM OTR. It is more like that. Much simpler to take out the filter. Just 7 screws at the top.
I am still cocerned a bit about how it copes with a large volume of water though.
