    Hey all,

Just a few questions about LSD diffs.

Is there a difference between v6 and v8 lsd diffs?

If you fit an IRS lsd diff to non-irs car do you have to change the shocks and springs over etc?

When you get/buy an lsd, if i was going to swap my non lsd with an lsd, do ya just change the gears in the diff block bit or do you have to take off all the rotor assembly off and remove wheels to do this etc?

    Thanks

i dont think is any difference in v6 or v8 lsd diffs.

to fit a irs diff to a non-irs car it is alot of work and not worth it the whole rear end needs to be changed.

all you swap is the centres you use the original gears (crown/pinion) and your axels will need to come out a bit. so the wheels needs to be removed.

    Alright.
So what exactly is required. Removal of back wheels, then what do you do? Do you know how ya go about changing the centers over?

So if I get an IRS LSD diff for my live axle VS I can just take the centre out of it and get somewhere to rebuild it in for me?

Would having an LSD with manual, be more likely to **** the gearbox and standard clutch more quicklier than non-lsd, if ya driving with a heavy foot, few skiddies here and there?

Would be much more suited to a strong gearbox + heavy duty clutch wouldnt it?

    Thanks

to exchange a live diff with an IRS diff you would need to change a lot, you need the Diff Cradle, Shocks and springs, and Exhaust a lot of muscle and patience.

you just need to relpace the centre not the whole diff to have lsd.

and i think having lsd would wreck the clutch quicker as theres more traction and wont brake loose at easy as a single spinner would, so that would be putting more pressure on the trans.

you dont need any gears , all you need is the lsd centre you use all your original gears, axels, diff housings. if you get a second hand one its better to get it rebuilt and tightened before you put it in.

im not to sure if irs lsd centre will fit a live axel diff. but i think it should.
