What he means by that is dont go to full lock on the steering wheel, when you do you can hear a screeching noise, just back off a little - it wont make any difference to your turning circle but wil make a huge difference to your power steering

I had the same problem with the VR n VS!
Mechanic just greased a boot right near the firewall n it fixed it, both times!
If ya want, ill find out exactly where to grease 2moro if you'd like?

About ur diff it should have a tag on it saying wether it has a LSD

Or if you jack ur car up from under your diff so both wheels are off the ground and then spin the wheel with your hand if the other side spins the same direction apparently what I have heard that means it has a LSD but if it spins the opposite way it has a open wheeler

With open wheelers it spins the wheel with the least resistance so it may sometimes spin the left wheel depends on what you are doing

Also when both wheels start spinning in open wheelers it means your diff is on its way out but don’t worry it takes a fair while before it will blow. its only when its spinning twins no matter what you do or starts whining when you will have to calm down a bit

I will let you know when you will have to calm down doing burnouts because I think mine is getting pretty close to going boom

Hi Bizzo
You havent said wether your steering goes tight when it makes the noises.
You could check your belt tension, if this is ok, then might have to consider it,s your pump on its way out.

I had exactly the same problem with my VS,
Whenever the wheel is turned it would make like a moan or a groaning noise.

I spoke to a holden dealer and they told me that its a common problem, its caused by a rubber boot on the steering column drying out.. All you have to do is get under the car and spray the column and the boots with CRC or WD40 or something like that.

I think the boot many be a pinkish red colour? im not too sure.

Anyway, it worked for me

Give it a go, its the cheapest solution!
