I picked up a used 2.5 inch cat back exhaust from gumtree a while ago Got it fitted and it only made the sound a tiny bit loader and has a rust hole in muffler So it sounds **** :/ problem is I can't afford a full all the way through system but I got quoted $270 for a 2.5 inch lukey exhaust from carline that's fitted but only from the cat back! Question is Will the lukey system make any difference at all or make my vs loud? He said it will make it Heaps loader but I'm not sure
If the system has no rear resonator it will make it louder, yes. If it has the rear resonator then it probably won't be much louder than what you have.
Hey man I don't know what a resonator is will look into that! I was reading another thread you answered on, removing the muffler makes em sound sick!! Will exhaust shoPs do that ? As its illegal to do.
Anything is only illegal when you get caught. If you think that having no rear resonator sounds sick then go with it. The resonator is the round muffler on the rear.
i put pacemaker extractors and a 2.5 inch redback system with the rear resonator on my vs and it has a noice burble to it, it dont droan and when u give it a bit u can hear it pretty good, and thats with a auto, my mate had an auto with teh same system without the rear resonator and it sounded ####ing ****!!
Mate, all lukey's sound crap. They are built to a budget and thats what you get is a budget sound. Spend a little more and get something custom for your car (Not an abba fan's systems are great). I do my own, providing you use decent pipe and resonators it will sound good (despite what the V6's will never sound good fanboys say) I run Advance Headers > Magnaflow 100 cell stainless high flow > 2.5" Catback with single ESA Resonator (All done in a decent thickness pipe, don't use hollow thin pipework, seems to make a big difference) (Because I did my catback myself it only cost me $220 all up to do and is a much higher quality than a Redback/Lukey) Great burble, nice lumpy sound at idle, never really noticed any annoying drone, sounds sweet at high RPM. Never go off the shelf repco exhausts like Lukey's it will always sound tinny and just in general sh*thouse I also found using a decent intake helped with the note of the exhaust too
Pitty I don't live in SA! could get you to make one up for me 'someguy360' that sounds good I really dont know I'm going to have to find some ppl with vs lukey exhaust fitted to really know if there any good ! I just hope with rear muffler ie resonator (thx not_abba_fan) lol it gets that nice burble sound the bloke next door has a Vr ute off its tits we'll it's only a v6 but far out its as lumpy as an eight should here it boys my mate was over when he took it for a spin he thought it was an 8 , think I'll go over and have a peek under his car LOL Btw drone is annoyingly depressing I don't want that
Always get a rear muffler. Even more so if getting extractors. Its depressing hearing wraith says my V6 is louder then his clubby. And the droning.. Oh the droning.
Anyone got a short video of a lukey with and without the rear resonator? Trying to find what one sounds like on a V6 Eco.
Have you ever heard someone farting into a tin? Sounds very similar to a lukey cat back without a muffler on a emotec.
I dont have ecotec, I have a lukey 2.5" without the rear resonator.. I love the note, Doesn't drone.. Heres a video of it... VR commodore - YouTube oh and on a side note, when you first get it back.. It'll be quiet but it'll soon wear in and get louder over time...
