Lumina totally lost power. Any ideas

Hi guys and goals I have a 2002 lumina that's decided it wants to play games with me. Started with random lights popping up on my dash then I lost power to the dash and now the car is dead. No power to the dash or ignition or anything.

Start by checking all the relevant fuses, under the bonnet and in the cabin.

Could it be dead battery? Sounds like the alternator.

Possible, but for a battery to just go black it has to have failed internally which is becoming a rare event in modern batteries. If the alternator has started going haywire, the battery should still at least be giving enough voltage to light a dash bulb particularly given the dash died before the engine did. If a fuse has blown somewhere, the next step will be to find out why and what else may have been damaged.

with a multimeter under load, or with an eyeball

What systems were lost and in what order? Was the engine running or starter still turning after the first loss of dash power?

Did you check the fusible links, particularly FJ, the main 60amp fusible link.
