Hey all,
I'm building a m80 diff with a torque lock LSD centre with 3.46 gears for my VT S2 Calais that has the V6.
Currrently has been manual converted, full MCA coilovers and cammed (just the main mods).
The driveshaft is the M78 4 bolt flange, and the M80 also has a 4 bolt flange but they are slightly different by a few millimeters on the bolt holes.
I was wondering if I can use the 4 bolt flange from the M78 onto the M80 when I get it rebuilt?
Or is there a better way of approaching this?

Just FYI, this is the 2nd M78 in the car, and its almost shot, massive whine and massive gear lash. The first one threw 3 of the ring gear bolts and punched a hole through the back cover, so I am in need of the better housing and centre.

Thanks,
Jordon

Yes, use your existing pinion flange on the new diff.

Ouch, had it been apart before? generally you don't hear off ring gear bolts coming out. Those suckers are normally done up very tight.

Awesome! That's fantastic to hear!
Yeah, they didnt come undone, from what I saw the bolt heads were sheared off and got caught in the gears while I was doing 110km/h on the motor way and spat one out the cover and the other two locked up the rear, was an interesting experience haha.
