Hi I'm curious if it's possible to put an eaton m90 supercharger on a vt v6? If so what parts are needed besides the snout pulley belt and u bend throttle? Ok know Na vt v6 can handle afew psi of boost just curious if stock intervals can take the m90??
By far better off and easier to do an L67 motor swap in my opinion. But if you do want to look at doing an L67 'top swap' then off the top of my head you'll need the following parts. Complete M90 blower with u bend, L67 heads, L67 lower inlet manifold, L67 coolant pipes, L67 harmonic balancer and double row idler pulley, L67 blower belt tensioner, new accessories and blower serp belts, L67 coil pack bracket, L67 engine harness and pcm, L67 vacuum hoses and solenoids, L67 flex plate/ring gear (they run a different balance factor to the ecotec) and 2600 torque converter (standard L67 rpm) and a few other fiddly bits I cant think of at the moment etc etc. By the time you source all these bits at likely inflated prices, this is why i say its easier to swap a complete motor. So long as you dont plan to further work the motor and keep it pretty much similar to a stock L67 then it should be ok if driven sensibly, but the difference here being the standard L67 has much stronger conrods and run coated pistons that are a lower compression ratio to the ecotec. 8.2:1 as compared to 9.8:1 if my memory is correct. I've sold a couple of complete L67 conversions with gearbox and all parts required in the past for $2k to give you an idea of price of what a complete one would cost. Hope that helps. Cheers, Chris.
Yeah I've been reading into it alittle, how about if I was to use a bracket mount STA charger with intercooling?? Just sussing out my options
the Raptor kits are so early to install onto a standard ecotec with no problems its not funny. give Tim a call to help ya out
Better off dropping an L67 into it. At least then you know with a few mods you will have a quick car and not just numbers on a dyno.
ahh yeah ive been looking into conversion, just none popping up locally that can fit them... im trying for anything over a v6, i.e super 6, 5l, or 5.7l lol. just dont want to go TOO expensive, looking at around 4000 or so to spend as im also saving for house soon :S
Just convert to a L67 adrian, Im not sure what the whole process is but im assuming if you had engine, gearbox and loom it would be easy easy (I said assuming, dont know to much about it to be honest)... You could even do it at home with a couple mates and an engine crane Look on l67torque.com, them guys know there ****, just read around and see what info you can get (should be some engines and **** for sale aswell )
