OK Steve I would like to get a tune.
Xforce 2 1/4 cat back.
I`m going to put in a K&N filter that is all I`m doing to her. (catch can)
Now I don`t want it to rev out to 7500 and I don`t know what the stock rev limit is but open to suggestions from all you guys.
Better shifts would be nice.
Want to to run better / better pickup / economical.
I have read this thread over and over and I can see the tune is great.
I will run 98.
Steve can you PM me on price I think I will keep the programmer.
Also you have said that you have people around Aussie for onhands help if needed.
Hope to have imput from all.
Cheers Pete.

“OK Steve I would like to get a tune.

I would HIGHLY recommend you get a catch can. Don’t worry about changing the filter if you’re not going to change the airbox

“Now I don`t want it to rev out to 7500 and I don`t know what the stock rev limit is but open to suggestions from all you guys.”
Bumping the rev limit to 7k isn’t an issue with these engines

“Better shifts would be nice.”
Easy fix

“Want to to run better / better pickup / economical.”
That won’t be a problem, fuel economy won’t change a great deal though

“I have read this thread over and over and I can see the tune is great.”
You’ll definitely be happy with it :)

“I will run 98.”
The really need to run on this fuel only, despite what Holden say

“Steve can you PM me on price I think I will keep the programmer.”
Done

“Also you have said that you have people around Aussie for onhands help if needed.”
That won’t be a problem. Can even assist remotely by logging onto your laptop with your permission of course!

Cheers,
Steve

Just a few questions about the Mace tune,

What price would it cost for a drive in/out for a Mace tune for a 2013 SV6 VE?
Would there be any ill-effects of running E85 post tune or would 98 be more than sufficient?
The car dyno'd @ 162.5rwkw (stock) recently at a reputable dyno - does this seem high to you?
The transmission is rather temperamental at times, will the tune iron out the bugs?
Being a new car, I intend on keeping everything standard; only wanting to improve day-to-day driveability

Thanks

Hi Z-Tuned,

Thanks for your enquiry

“Just a few questions about the Mace tune,”
No problem.

“What price would it cost for a drive in/out for a Mace tune for a 2013 SV6 VE?”
You would be looking at around the $1000 mark, give or take.

“Would there be any ill-effects of running E85 post tune or would 98 be more than sufficient?”
Given you haven an LFX engine (even LFW would be applicaThere will be no ill-effects of running E85 post tune.

“The car dyno'd @ 162.5rwkw (stock) recently at a reputable dyno - does this seem high to you?”
The LFX engine in your car does make strong power. Just to confirm though, is that figure based on a Mainline or Dyno Dynamics dyno?

“The transmission is rather temperamental at times, will the tune iron out the bugs?”
It genuinely will.

“Being a new car, I intend on keeping everything standard; only wanting to improve day-to-day driveability”
I completely understand where you’re coming from.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask

Kindest Regards,
Steve.

Hi Steve,

Disregard my ignorance (I've only ever owned Toyota's) but what do you mean by an LFX engine?
It was on a Dyno Dynamics dyno. We thought the car would only approx 140 being an auto but hey, every dyno's different.
I thought tuning was approx $450-500, is there something different with these engines/transmissions?

I have bought Mace manifold insulators I'm thinking of an air hammer CAI and cat back and a tune to top it all off what could I expect to gain from all this power wise in a series 1 sv6 that's other wise stock it's the auto 5 box to so I'm guessing no refinements for it? And would a 2.5 inch cat back be better power wise than a 2.25 ?
